Grocery prices

Everyone knows that groceries in Hawaii are expensive. But there are times it is just shocking! A regular box of cereal... $9.15. Frozen blueberries $11.69. The most I have seen a gallon of milk was $9.50 a gallon. Troy teases me because I stock up on things when they are on sale, but it saves us a lot. Every week, I go through the ads and make a list of what to buy at the different grocery stores. :)

Car trouble

There are disadvantages to living on an island. The radiator on my car sprung a leak. Toyota wanted $650 for just the radiator. Checker was $200 but couldn't get it here for 3 weeks. Napa had one on Oahu, but it took a week to get it here.

Boo boos

June 5 was Tanner's last day of 2nd grade. Tanner was riding his scooter in the driveway, which is not a smooth surface, and fell. He scraped up forehead and cheek. Poor kid. He started the school year with a black eye from rolling off his bed and hitting the toy box, and ended it with his face scratched up. This picture didn't look too bad, but when it scabbed it looked worse. The scabs have fallen off now, and I hope that the scars fade.

Roi aka Peacock Grouper

Troy and Tanner went fishing and this is the fish they caught. Troy weighed it with his fishing scale and the fish was 8lbs 8oz. Troy gutted it and put it in the freezer. He was telling his friend about the fish he caught and he said that he bet it was a state record. So we pulled up the state records, and the state record for the fish Troy caught was 7lbs 14 oz. Troy is so mad that he didn't go get it weighed. Now we know! :)
